Hello and welcome!
I started this site in 2000, mainly geared towards young rat owners. Over the years it has really grown and I hope
to provide up-to-date, basic info for rat owners of all ages. As the owner of six pet rats I try to stay on top of new
information and update this site as often as I am able.

~Connecticut and California Rats Need Homes...Please Help!~
Nearly 100 domestic rats were released onto private property in Colebrook CT, where a cruel extermination attempt is now
under way. Apparently town workers are shooting the rats to ’thin their numbers.’
About 60 rats have been rescued and are now being cared for at the Harmony House Rabbit Sanctuary.

North Star Rescue based in Novato CA is dealing with a person who was hoarding about 150 rats
in terrible conditions. Many of these rats could be put down if enough foster homes and new adoptive homes are not found.
