Hello and welcome to Rats R Cool! For those of you who are new here, Rats R Cool is a site dedicated to the care and promotion of pet rats. I have tried to make this website as informative and helpful as possible both for new and experienced rat owners alike and continue to add new information regularly. You can also find quite a few pictures of my four lovely ratties, Fiona, Rose, Lana, and Saki.

If you have any comments or suggestions for this site please feel free to send me an email or leave a message in the Guestbook. I hope you have enjoyed your visit here!

~Connecticut and California Rats Need Homes...Please Help!~

Nearly 100 domestic rats were released onto private property in Colebrook CT, where a cruel extermination attempt is now under way. Apparently town workers are shooting the rats to ’thin their numbers.’

About 60 rats have been rescued and are now being cared for at the Harmony House Rabbit Sanctuary.

If you can help in any way, from donating to adopting some of the rats please visit:

The Colebrook Rat Project

North Star Rescue based in Novato CA is dealing with a person who was hoarding about 150 rats in terrible conditions. Many of these rats could be put down if enough foster homes and new adoptive homes are not found.

If you are in the Bay Area or anywhere in CA please consider helping out and giving these rats a chance at a better life! Visit the rescue's website to learn more:
